Poem Title Competition - choose a title for my poem!

This competition is now closed. Please see my 'Upcoming Titles' page.

As most of you are aware, I am compiling a love poetry compilation (working title In Bloom And Thorn) due to be released around July, the title of which will take over the ISBN-free publication,  I Love Him, I Love Him Not, which will be out of print by the end of this year. It will contain at least 15 pieces not published in Little Moments Of Truth, hopefully more and will be available on Amazon and anywhere else I can get it accepted. One of these said poems is below. It is untitled - I have never settled on a title I'm happy with... So, I am opening the floor to YOU.
I would love to hear your title suggestions for this poem and am conducting this as a competition:
Rules: There aren't any - you can submit as many titles as you like! Anyone seeing this on the internet can enter.
Closing Date: May 31st, 2010
Prize: Acknowledgment as having titled the poem wherever it appears and a free copy of In Bloom And Thorn
Please send suggestions to dianna@thewitchingpen.co.uk including your name as you wish to see it in print (for acknowledgement) and your email address to let you know if you are the winner. Winning title will be posted here on 1st June. If you do not hear from me via email, it's because your title was not chosen.

Thank you and good luck! Over to you...

(Untitled)

I'm wide awake
and you're not here,
but still I'm sure
that I can hear
your soothing voice
inside my head
as I lie here
in this bed.

The night is dark,
the dark is cold,
but still I'm sure
that I can hold
your body close
against my own,
so close, I know
I'm not alone.

I slowly drift
away to sleep,
but still I'm sure
I feel you creep
into my dreams
within the night
to keep me warm
and hold me tight.

  1. What is the winning title and who sent it? Or did you decide to use your own?

  2. Hi Amel, thanks for your query.

I'll edit the blog so that people know, that unfortunately I did not have any entries despite a few people saying they would enter. As a result, I changed plans for upcoming publications and Bloom And Thorn will no longer be released, although I will be creating a second edition of I Love Him, I Love Him Not (more details on Upcoming Titles page). The poem currently remains untitled. Thanks for asking. Dianna

  3. I would title it "Within the Night". Hopefully that helps in a way. I really hate to see a piece of work remains untitled.

  4. Thanks for your suggestion - it's great and I shall bear it in mind. Will let you know what I finally decide on! Dianna.
