Life after The Witching Pen... Or is it?

The Demon Bride is coming to a close. I have 30% of it left to write, so I'm thinking a lot about what comes next....

A few months ago, I had an idea for a YA series. I've gone back and forth with the idea. I set up a YA website and kept it just ticking over so I could get a good "feel" for the genre and whether I wanted to go ahead and write YA paranormal fiction.

I never say never, but I will say, not now. I'll be taking the site down and I'm shelving my ideas. I'm very much into writing my adult fiction at the moment, and, God help me, I'm not sure I can keep all that sex and swearing down to a minimum for a young adult audience(!). I'm enjoying my current writing style. My paranormal romances have a healthy dose of urban fantasy, and my urban fantasies will have a healthy dose of romance, and they will all be written for those that can take the sex, swearing and violence, albeit in a light-hearted, yet still kinda dark sort of way (I know what I mean - you will also know what I mean once you read The Sands Of Time and The Demon Bride).

So, from September, I shall be fully immersed in Project Veil, and there is a strong chance that the release date for book one, Awakening, will be sooner than summer of next year, although I can't promise that yet.

I also have a werewolf series in the pipeline, which I have mentioned before (and then I shelved that too because The Demon Bride needed to come first). That will be something I'll be working on also.

The Last Angel is also in the future, and for the moment, that will remain a summer release, but it may be pushed back. It's going to be an intense book to write, and I'm up to my eyeballs in 'intense' at the moment thanks to The Demon Bride.

The above are my three solid plans in terms of books for 2013.

Beyond that, I have, potentially, the following in the pipeline: a novel length story focusing on Katherine Green (Elena's mother in The Witching Pen). This would be set in the 1980's and Etienne Green and Gwain will also have meaty parts, as well as Darius (Elena's Shanka demon father) and Nathaniel, who is Darius's brother. (Did I mention that in The Witching Pen? No? Lol. There you go - a free little fun fact for you there. Maybe in a couple of years I'll bring out a Witching Pen Compendium with lots of fun facts.... it's all right here in my head.

So, you see, I'm not really leaving the Witching Pen World behind. It's just developing outside of a series at its own pace. I like that - it's different :)

As always feel free to comment if you have any thoughts on the above.
