Wearing Different Hats

The thing I find the hardest about writing, is getting back into it after you've taken a break to do whatever else you need to do. These past two weeks, I've been marketing and networking, and I've made that my priority -- writing has taken a back seat to the point where I've not done so much of it.

 

Now the marketing and networking spate is coming to an end and I need to get back to my writing 1000 words a day. It's only 1000 words; you'd think it wouldn't be an issue, but swapping the two hats is harder than it seems. My brain is in full networking mode, which makes it hard to get it into creative mode.

Still, this is my aim tonight before going to bed: write 1000 words! And this will be my mantra every day until the end of the month (when undoubtedly the next spate of marketing will have to take precedence):
