ATTENTION All Who Love Romance And Animals

Anyone who really knows me knows how I feel about animals, not just in an "oh, they're so cute" kind of way, but in a "they are a spiritual extension of our humanity" kind of way. Years ago I went through an intense phase of working with my power animals (after I had the privilege of meeting some wolves face to face) and this was one of my conclusions:

Animals are an extension of our physical and spiritual selves – they represent our potential as a human race. To destroy a species by our own hand is to shut a door to ourselves that may never be opened again.

So, I always jump at the chance to promote anything that helps animals, and some of the best causes are the ones where someone is supporting something local. Every good thing begins at home.

This is where romance comes into it: for those who don't know, Jimmy Thomas is a cover model for romance covers (quite a popular one at that!). He owns and runs RomanceNovelCovers.com  Not only is his 2011 calender steaming hot, but a portion of the proceeds of its sales go to his local animal shelter.

In summary, for not a lot of money, you get some drool-worthy images, you get to help some animals, and by default, you get to help the collective soul of the human race (well, at least I believe this last bit -- I'm coming at this from a spiritual angle. Animals are not just convenient fluff-balls to me -- they help people emotionally and on a soul level).

All calender details (including monthly images) are here http://www.jimmythomas.com/2011-Calendar.htm

Lastly, I recently blogged about my schedule (I use the term loosely) for the Bitten Fruit Book's Insights Series that I'm writing (spiritual chapbooks). I didn't have a clue which one to start on next, so I asked for some kind of sign. I always get "signs" within three days of asking. I guess the next one for 2012 will be Working With Your Power Animals.
