Heartfelt and Healing
Good morning all!
I'm going on to talk about writing very briefly, but first I'd like to encourage everyone to take a moment to remember 9/11 and all its victims. It was an event that literally brought the world to a standstill for days, the effects of which are still felt around the globe. I remember watching those towers come down via the footage on the news when I came home (I was the hairdresser's of all places -- I only ever go to the hairdresser's once a year....), and like everyone else I know, I think I stood there with my mouth hanging open in disbelief for most of the day.
The only other times I remember feeling so emotional, was when some nutter decided to take out a primary school out in Dunblane on 13th March, 1996, and when Madeleine McCann disappeared.
Maybe in remembrance of 9/11, as well as remembering tragic events around the world, we should also take the time to remember our own little cataclysms. There is no better time to begin to heal our own internal wounds; to strive to become better people through uncontrollable life events. Although everything is easier said than done, I truly believe that it's not what happens to us that makes us who we are, but how we react to what happens, and what we choose to do afterwards.
Anyway ... yes ... take a moment....
Okay ... I was going to talk about writing here, but it just doesn't feel right anymore, so I'll leave that for another day. But if you wandered here to know about my writing, I'm over at Bookaholics Book Club today, with a guest post and a SWAG giveaway to boot.
Have a heartfelt and healing day everyone,
Dianna x
